In 1913 the Guinness family donated £100,000 for German Mauser arms procurement to the Ulster Volunteer Force which ironically were used against Germany on the western front, Porter beer was invented in London not Dublin and the Guinness company is owned by Diageo, a French drinks consortioum. Irish distillers (Jameson Bushmills, Powers, Tullamore Dew,etc) is owned by Pernod Ricard. The Harp logo Guinness use and the harp on the English Royal coat of arms are not the Sovereign seal of the Irish Republic. However the Harp is a native instrument of Ireland dating back to pre-history possibly linked to vikings.
